Introduction
MSc (Master of Science) in Strategic Business
IS is a two stage program.
Stage 1: The Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) in Strategic Business
IT awarded by NCC Education.
This stage
consists of four modules that are held online
at the ArabianCampus.com. These modules provide
students with relevant critical, analytical and technical skills needed by senior staff.
On successful completion of PgD in Strategic
Business Information Technology, students are
enrolled directly with the University
for the MSc. program.
Stage 2: The Master of Science (MSc) in Strategic Business IS.
The MSc. consists of two modules: Research Methodology and Dissertation, taught
on-line by the University lecturers.

This program is desgined for IT and computing graduates or IT practitioners who wish to further develop their careers.
The program covers a wide range of contemporary issues and develops the critical, analytical and technical skills needed by senior staff. The program will also develop the academic skills required for further study at master's level. |

The Underlying Philosophy of the Course
Candidates should not only be familiar with the
course modules and their content but also their
purpose and how the modules interrelate. In particular,
it is important to emphasise the philosophy underpinning
the overall course design i.e.:
- To address issues rather than technological
detail.
- To emphasise the relationship of Information
System (IS) ot the broader organisational context
and the world at large.
- To encourage and develop the critical abilities
of candidates and to equip them for positions

of Candidates
This course is designed for:
- Individuals who wish to build on their existing
IT skills whilst being introduced to a range
of business and mangement issues which will
equipthem with relevant skills and knowledge
to undertake responsibilities;
- IT personnel who wish to enhance their career
opportunities, specifically in the areas of
management and strategic business analysis;
- Individuals who wish to gain credit transfer
to a top-up MSc program.

PgD
Entry Requirements
Route 1
- UK bachelor's degree with honours (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science or related subject.
- IT graduates who hold a bachelor's ordinary or pass-level degreee (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related subject with exceptionally high marks may be considered for admission, at the discretion of NCC Education.
Route 2
- UK bachelor's degree with honours in a non-IT-related subject AND
- Three (3) years
work experience in an IT environment, with evidence of technical or managerial responsibility.
Route 3
- Five years' work experience in an IT environment
with evidence of technical or managerial responsibility AND
- The ability to demostrate suitability for academic study, via personal or telephone interview with the Course Co-ordinator at the student's Accreditated Partner Center.
Students whose first langauge is not English will need an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent, as outlined in the NCC Education English Requirements for Postgraduate Entry document.
MSc Entry requirements:
- Successful completion of the Postgraduate
Diploma modules.

Research in Information Technology - reflecting on the application of research approaches and communication research findings in a suitable format for dissemination.
Enterprise Software and Business Infrastructure - an overall view of how information technology is used within industrial enterprise, what is meant by 'enterprise software' and how it is incorporated within the underlying IT infrastructure.
Strategic Information Systems Analysis - the concept of strategies information systems and how they may be deployed and managed in such a way that supports, enhances and is consistent with , the overall business strategy.
Project Management - managing and controlling IT projects in a commercial environment.

Program
Duration
This course consists of two stages:
For the NCC Education PgD in Strategic
Business IT containing 4 modules, delivered online by Accredited Partner - Arabian Campus. Duration is normally 1 year full-time to 2 years part-time.
For the MSc program containing 2 modules
taught online by the University lecturers, Duration is in general, 18 months of work. Each stduent works through the disseration at their own pace with one-to-one supervision. |
